Iconic South African hitmaker Bulelwa Mkutukana popularly known as Zahara, passed away on Monday night, after spending the last few weeks at a private health facility in Johannesburg.
Zahara was announced deceased on Monday, the Minister of Sports Arts and Culture Zizi Kodwa, announced her death, saying:
“My deepest condolences to the Mkutukana family and the South African music industry. Government has been with the family for some time now. Zahara and her guitar made an incredible and lasting impact in South African music.”
Some family members of the late South African Afro pop sensation, Zahara, believe that poison might have been poured in her drink during her lobola ceremony which took place two days before she fell ill and was rushed to a hospital in Johannesburg.
According to ZiMoja, a close family member opened up about what may have led to the singer’s health complications and ultimate hospital stay. The source allegedly revealed that they suspect that Zahara was poisoned by one of her close relatives, supposedly at her lobola celebration.
Zahara’s fiancé, Mpho Xaba, had just paid off lobola for his bride and their families came together to celebrate. However, just days after the festivities, the Umthwalo singer was sent to the hospital.
Zahara died at age 36 and her death is seen as untimely and a shock….
